Metallica is leveraging its influence to help Los Angeles communities devastated by the catastrophic fires that have engulfed parts of the city, the iconic rock band’s foundation, All Within My Hands, has committed $500,000 to relief efforts.
These funds will support the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund.
In a press release, the band highlighted its commitment to creating sustainable communities by aiding workforce education, combating hunger, and supporting critical services.
A statement from the foundation emphasized the scale of the devastation caused by the fires that began raging on January 7. Tragically, the fires have claimed at least 24 lives, displaced nearly 100,000 people, and burned over 40,000 acres.
Despite recent progress in containment, authorities warn of worsening conditions as Santa Ana winds intensify, potentially reaching speeds of up to 70 MPH. This could reignite the threat, urging residents to remain vigilant as the situation unfolds.

The music industry has also stepped up to provide support. MusiCares and the Recording Academy have launched the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort, pledging $1 million to assist professionals impacted by the fires.
The initiative offers immediate financial aid of up to $1,500 and $500 in food vouchers for individuals who have been part of the music industry for at least five years.
