Multiple people were injured Sunday after a gunman opened fire at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, before the building erupted in flames, according to local police. Dramatic footage posted on social media showed thick smoke pouring from the church as firefighters battled the blaze. Emergency vehicles crowded the scene as officials worked to secure the area.

“This is a horrific shooting and fire,” U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote on X, noting that she had been briefed and that federal resources were being mobilized. “Such violence at a place of worship is heartbreaking and chilling. Please join me in praying for the victims of this terrible tragedy.”

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer echoed the outrage on X, stating, “Violence anywhere, especially in a place of worship, is unacceptable.” She added that her office was closely monitoring developments.
