A Michigan mother has been charged with murder after her 2-year-old daughter was found dead in their home on November 7.
Paige Bohne, 21, is accused of killing her daughter, Octavia, and was arrested and charged with open murder by St. Joseph County authorities.

Bohne called 911 on the morning of November 7 to report that her daughter was unresponsive. She told dispatchers that Octavia “wouldn’t wake up,” and officers arrived to find the child already deceased.
While the cause of death has not been disclosed, deputies on the scene suspected foul play, according to St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sgt. Jason Auton.
“We’re still investigating, but when deputies arrived, they immediately had concerns about the circumstances,” Auton told local news outlets.
Bohne has not yet entered a plea, and it’s unclear whether she has retained an attorney.
The arrest has shocked Bohne’s parents, who spoke out in disbelief. “I am used to being able to fix everything in my world, and I feel helpless,” Charles Bohne, Paige’s father, told WWMT. “I just can’t fix it.”

The tragedy has also rocked the extended family. Octavia’s aunt, Shelby Bohne, set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral costs, describing the toddler as “deeply loved by everyone who knew her.”
The investigation into Octavia’s death is ongoing, and authorities are working to piece together what led to the child’s death.
As of now, Paige Bohne remains in custody, facing serious charges in connection with her daughter’s untimely death.
