Gabriel Jesus is still the main target of Arsenal as of today,” Romano explains. “In the next few hours there will be new contacts to understand if they can reach an agreement or move to other targets.

The Gunners are confident that there are very decent alternatives out there who would surely do a job at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are looking to bring in Belgium’s midfielder Youri Tielemans after struggling to cover the absences of Thomas Partey last season, who was injured for the run-in.

Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith, believes the Belgian would be a good signing for Gunners who are aiming to finish in the top four next season.

I can’t imagine they will wait until next summer and lose him on a free. I think he’ll go.”
