According to sources, telecommunications services may ban unregistered SIM cards of users this week.
We all know that the deadline for registering SIM cards with the Ghana card was extended last month by the communications minister, Ursula Owusu Ekuful.
Unfortunately, the extended time has elapsed and mobile networks may start blocking unregistered sim cards pretty soon.
Meanwhile, the government has introduced a SIM Card registration Self-Service Application in the midst of the uproar (App).
According to a statement made by the National Commission (NCA), the App is meant for users who have completed Stage 1 of their SIM card registration to finish Stage 2.
The announcement also noted that the app, titled “GH SIM SELF REG,” is currently available for download on the Google Play market.
That is to say, customers who have not yet connected their Ghana cards to their SIM cards will find it simpler to do so thanks to the new App released by the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization.
