The full list of nominees for the 2020 MOBO Awards has been released by the Organizers, and Townflex is here to serve you all with the list of acts who made it to the most talked-about category on the African continent which is the “Best African Act” category.
The Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards are an annual music award presentation honoring achievements in “music of black origin”, including hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music. And this year’s edition consists of 18 categories.
The category so dear to Africans happens to be the “BEST AFRICAN ACT” category, which is put in place to honor/award hardworking musical artistes on the continent, as the likes of African big stars including Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale from Ghana, Nigeria’s Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage among other greats acts are ready in the list to battle it out.

The award ceremony is scheduled to come off on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at exactly 7PM, this year’s edition will be held as a virtual show, due to the outbreak of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic. The ceremony will be streaming live on their official YouTube Channel hosted by Maya Jama and Chunkz.
And as it stands, Rap titan, Nines tops the list as he grabs five nominations which are, the Best Male Act, Album of The Year, Video of The Year, Best Hip Hop Act and Best Album (2017 – 2019).
