Candace Chapman Scott, 37, sold the remains to Jeremy Lee Pauley, a Pennsylvania man who describes himself as an “oddities collector” and is covered in face tattoos and piercings.

The human remains were taken from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Anatomical Gift Program, which is designed to provide donated bodies for medical education.

Scott, who worked in the program, met Pauley through a Facebook group where users discussed the illicit sale of body parts.

Scott, who pled guilty last year, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Brian S. Miller, who called her crimes “some of the worst I’ve ever seen.”

Items sold included a skull, lungs, hearts, and even testicles.

When investigators searched Scott’s home, they discovered body parts in bags, and Scott admitted to stealing them from her workplace.

The case became even more unsettling when it was revealed that some of the remains, including those of a fetus named “Baby Lux,” were wrongly returned to grieving families.

Doneysha Smith, the mother of Baby Lux, spoke at the sentencing, expressing heartbreak and anger at the betrayal.

“I can’t believe my son was mailed around like a package,” she said tearfully.

Pauley, who faces sentencing in Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and the transportation of stolen property.
