Authorities in Missouri are investigating the tragic death of 28-year-old mother of two, BreAnna Johnson, who was found fatally shot in her home on October 31.
Johnson, who was four months pregnant with twins, was discovered dead in her Wentzville residence early that morning. Her two children, aged 6 months and nearly 2 years, were found unharmed.
Local police arrested 39-year-old Darryl Tyson Jr., Johnson’s boyfriend and the father of her children, on October 31, following a reported domestic violence incident the day before.

Tyson was charged with domestic violence, but as of now, he has not been charged with Johnson’s death. Authorities say Tyson was taken into custody for questioning following the shooting.
Johnson’s mother, Janette Giddens, alleges that her daughter had been subjected to physical abuse by Tyson.
Johnson had reportedly sought help from a domestic violence organization earlier in the year, expressing fear for her safety.
Dr. Cynthia Bennett, the founder of Journey Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse, confirmed that Johnson had reached out for support while she was pregnant with her other child, describing her as “afraid for her life.”

Just a day before the killing, police responded to a domestic dispute at the couple’s home. Tyson allegedly threw a phone, striking Johnson in the head.
The domestic violence incident raised concerns for Johnson’s safety, which tragically culminated in her death the following day.
In a GoFundMe set up by her family, Johnson’s death was described as an “unconscionable loss.”
The fundraiser also highlights the heartbreak of her surviving children, noting that “Messiah and Jeremiah will never know first-hand the loving mother who was so beautiful and happy with her babies.”

Wentzville police are collaborating with the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to pursue further charges against Tyson.
He remains in custody on a $500,000 bond. It is unclear whether he has entered a plea or retained legal representation.
