Reginald Nana Yaw Asante, also known as Reggie Rockstone, a veteran Ghanaian singer, has stated that the pandemic has boosted his business stating that “My Business Has Benefited From COVID-19.”
In an interview with Y107.9 FM’s Y Leaderboard Series, he revealed that while the pandemic wreaked havoc on the world, it had a good impact on his business.
According to the artist-turned-businessman, he began delivering goods and services to his customers’ doorsteps during the covid era.

He stated that:
“We were selling the food in our club. So people would come there to buy and those who knew about it came to buy. But, there was also a whole bunch of Ghanaians who did not know I was selling waakye.“

Many people thought Reggie Rockstone had just started selling waakye when he had a feud with Shatta Wale last year, but he has been in the waakye industry for almost three years before he addressed it publicly.
Reggie Rockstone noted that during the epidemic, he understood he needed to be resourceful in order to take advantage of the situation, which is why he chose to deliver door-to-door.
“Because at the time, deliveries were the thing and nobody wanted to die but we wanted to eat. So all the folks who had eaten my waakye before became the immediate customers for delivery and that just blew up and the jar came along,” he said.
“That also got bigger with all the controversies that came with it,” the veteran musician emphasized.
The “Plan Ben” singer continued, “They achieved big sales during that period, and it’s been like that since.”
“I had folks fly out of town just to come to have interviews about the waakye. And all this happened during the covid period,” he concluded.
