Rapper NBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has pleaded guilty to charges related to his involvement in a prescription drug fraud ring in Utah.
The 25-year-old rapper, who is currently serving a 27-month federal sentence, appeared in court on Monday, November 18, where he entered a plea deal that included a $25,000 fine but no additional jail time or probation.
Gaulden pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, two counts of third-degree felony forgery, and six counts of misdemeanor unlawful pharmacy conduct.
He also entered a “no contest” plea to several remaining charges.
The plea deal comes after an investigation that uncovered a prescription drug fraud operation involving Gaulden’s vehicle and fraudulent prescriptions under his name.
According to KSL, the investigation began when police arrested five individuals who used Gaulden’s car to pick up a fraudulent prescription.
Authorities also discovered a prescription issued under Gaulden’s name with incorrect details and bottles containing fraudulent prescriptions in his possession.

Judge Spencer Walsh dismissed most of the charges against Gaulden, who has previously faced legal trouble, including his involvement in a 2019 shooting in Miami.
In court, Judge Walsh wished Gaulden well, stating that the rapper appeared to be a talented young man with potential.
As part of the plea agreement, Gaulden will serve an additional five years of federal probation after his release from prison.
Prosecutors noted that this case is part of a larger investigation into a broader drug fraud ring.
Gaulden’s attorney did not immediately comment, but the rapper’s legal team has expressed hopes that he can turn his life around after his federal sentence and probation period.
