NDC heads to Court on Wednesday over election result

The opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready to go to court on Wednesday, December 30th to challenge the outcome of the December 7th, parliamentary and presidential elections.

Rockson Nelson Defeamekpor, who is a member of the legal team for the NDC revealed this in a recent interview hosted by Samson Lardy Anyenini on Joynews’ Newsfile.

According to him, the NDC will be heading to court on Wednesday, where they will be challenging the results for both the presidential and parliamentary elections.

“We’ll go to court. We’ve made that clear… Certainly, by Wednesday, all these matters would be placed before the court,” he said.

According to the Electoral laws of the land, all aggrieved parties in the election have 21-days to file a legal challenge of the process, and December 30th, 2020 happens to be the final day to the time frame, as the election held on December 7th.
