Negative comments on social media led me to consider suicide – Fella Makafui

Actress Fella Makafui has revealed a point in her life when she thought suicide was her only option after experiencing nasty remarks on social media.

During a Daybreak Hitz interview on Hitz FM, the actress asserted that she is among the most harassed celebrities in Ghana.

Speaking about what drove her to the brink, Fella Makafui—who is presently making the rounds to promote her new film, “Resonance”—said that the bullying damaged her mental state.

The former “YOLO” actress claimed she learned from the bad experience and chose not to respond to people who do not support her.

It remains where it is as long as you don’t mention it too often. More people spread the bad word than the truth. During a meeting with my manager in 2019, he informed me of a situation on social media that nearly led to my suicide.

“That’s it, if I tell you now that I don’t come out openly. It was necessary to refute the trolling effect; I don’t talk this much to make a point. I count among those who experience bullying, if that’s appropriate. It’s gone the instant I say it, so I don’t want to bring it up.

Thanks to God, Fella Makafui was able to persevere through these challenges.

Simply have faith that God grants us blessings via our emotions. I move with these three things, not hatred and envy. I believe I am most likely blessed by God. I don’t think I attend church that way; I believe we ought to do better.
