A New Jersey family is devastated after a 38-year-old mother, Lauren Saldana, was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend just weeks after giving birth to her fourth child.
Saldana was found dead in her South Brunswick Township home on Thursday, January 9, according to local police.
Authorities have arrested 41-year-old Roman Romanovskiy, Saldana’s ex-boyfriend, in connection with the tragic incident.
The couple, who had two children together, had reportedly been in an on-and-off relationship, marked by emotional turbulence.
Their 5-year-old child was present at the scene and witnessed the brutal act, adding to the heartbreak of the already tragic situation.
Saldana’s daughter, Madison Saldana, spoke about the painful loss in an interview, describing her mother’s relationship with Romanovskiy as a “rollercoaster.”

Madison is now seeking custody of her younger siblings, which includes her 19-year-old, 16-year-old, and 5-year-old siblings.

She also highlighted that the family is raising awareness about domestic violence, which played a significant role in her mother’s untimely death.
Lauren Saldana had only recently given birth to her fourth child, three weeks prior to the incident.
A GoFundMe page created to support the family paints a picture of a mother who faced many challenges but always loved her children fiercely.
“Lauren was a person,” the appeal states, emphasizing the impact of her love for her children despite her struggles.
The Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released an official cause of death, and Romanovskiy has been charged with first-degree murder and child endangerment, though it is unclear if he has entered a plea or secured legal representation.
