In a bold display of protest, a New Jersey woman voted in her bra after being told she could not wear a MAGA hat and a Trump shirt at the polls.
The incident occurred on October 26 at a firehouse in Hamilton Township, roughly five miles east of Trenton, during early voting.
According to reports, the woman approached the polling station wearing her pro-Trump attire when a poll worker informed her that electioneering laws prohibited political gear that could identify support or opposition for a candidate.
Jill Moyer, chairperson of the Mercer County Board of Elections, attempted to explain that she could hold the woman’s place in line while she retrieved a jacket from her car.
However, before Moyer could finish her sentence, the woman dramatically tore off her shirt and swung it overhead, defiantly declaring, “This is why I vote Trump.”
Witnesses reported that she also gestured with her middle finger and shouted a vulgar phrase in response to the poll workers.

As the scene unfolded, Moyer considered calling the police, but the unidentified woman quickly cast her ballot and exited the polling place, leaving a lasting impression on those who witnessed the incident.
New Jersey’s electioneering law prohibits any clothing or items that can be “read or viewed to identify support or opposition of a candidate.”
Despite this, the woman’s actions gained attention online, particularly after a post on Reddit shared the story before being deleted.
The incident even caught the eye of Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance, who praised her actions, calling her “a patriot.”
This incident underscores the ongoing tensions surrounding political expression, especially in the context of voting, as individuals navigate the rules governing polling places.
