The 32-year-old forward, who joined Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 for a £78million fee from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has struggled with injuries and has been limited to just seven appearances for the Saudi club.

Neymar is currently recovering from a hamstring injury that he sustained in November, only two games after making his comeback from a serious knee injury.

In 2022, Neymar ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus while playing for Brazil, sidelining him for almost a year.

It has been confirmed that Neymar will not be registered for the second half of the Saudi Pro League season, opening the door for Santos to offer him a potential escape route.
