Nicki Minaj cancels second Amsterdam concert following drug arrest

Nicki Minaj has annulled her second Amsterdam concert subsequent to her recent apprehension.

Recall that the rapper was detained less than a week ago on May 25th at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport for possession of marijuana, for which she was fined and released. Consequently, she will no longer be hosting her impending tour.

Nicki’s upcoming tour stop at the Ziggo Dome, slated for June 2, has been canceled. The event promoters, Mojo, in a statement declared, “Due to the events of last week, the Nicki Minaj show on Sunday, 2nd June at Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam will no longer be taking place”

Mojo further announced that all fans who procured tickets and were eagerly anticipating the rapper’s performance will be reimbursed at the point of sale, they added.

This incident marks Nicki’s second show affected by her detainment, an event she documented on her social media channels. Minaj had been en route from the Netherlands to England for a scheduled show in Manchester on the night of her arrest. Her detention led to the postponement of the Manchester concert, which has been rescheduled for June 3.

Minaj expressed feeling “subhuman” during her arrest and interactions with law enforcement, alleging racial discrimination. “Knowing that something is being done to you on purpose simply because you are a confident other race; the treatment was just disgusting and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”

Amsterdam authorities from the Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary found it “annoying that she draws the racism card,” maintaining that the protocols followed during her luggage inspection were the same “as is the case for everyone in [security].”

Despite the Amsterdam setback, Nicki Minaj recently announced 22 additional shows for the North American leg of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

Following the conclusion of the UK and European leg in Belgium on July 14, the new dates commence in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center on September 4, continuing through October 11 at the UBS Arena in Queens.
