Nigeria Man Escapes From Self-Isolation After Testing Positive For COVID-19 In Upper West Region

Forty-six (46) years old Nigerian man who tested positive recently for the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic in the Upper West Region of Ghana has escaped from where he was to self-isolate.

The Nigerian national by name, “Simon Okafor Chukudi” according to reports tested positive for the respiratory disease on Monday, 13th April, 2020.

Simon who stays at Wapaani in the regional capital is nowhere to be found after his test result got revealed to him by the health practitioners.

The Nigerian since Tuesday was difficult to contact after plans were made by the health authorities to transport him to the regional isolation centre for further treatments.

Simon Okafor Chukudi is one of the region’s imported COVID-19 cases, revealed by the Upper West Regional, Director of Health Services by name Dr Osei Kufuor Afreh.

“Five out of the new cases were people who came from abroad, including one Nigerian and one person from the Western region” – Dr Afreh said.

The Upper West Regional Police Commander DCOP Francis Aboagye Nyarko siad that a vigorous search exercise has already commenced as police personnel have been dispatched police to hunt for the Nigerian

The Nigerian national will be found in the shortest possible time. The Regional Police Commander said.
