Popular Nigerian actor, Baba Ijesha born with his legal name Olanrewaju Omiyinka has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment
Baba Ijesha who is facing six counts of child defilement that include indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by penetration.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court gave out the final verdict which concludes that the actor was guilty and is to spend 16-year in jail on Thursday, July 14, 2022 adding that the jail term will run concurrently.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo’s verdict was given out after the prosecution failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty of all the charges against actor, after he pleaded not guilty.
Baba Ijesha was convicted for sexually assaulting the 14-year-old daughter of his colleague, actress and comedienne, Damilola Adekoya, whose stage name is Princess.
The actor was reported to the police and was arrested back in 2021 for sleeping with the victim since she was seven years old.
