NPP caucus takes early seats at Majority side

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, has officially declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) caucus and the Independent Fomena Member of Parliament as the majority side of the House.

He made the declaration Friday, January 15 after the Fomena MP wrote to the Speaker announcing his intention to align with the NPP for purposes of business transactions in the House.

This declaration is expected to bring finality to what has been a raging controversy with each of the sides claiming to be the majority in parliament, even though the numbers do not support their claims.
