O.J. Simpson’s estate is preparing to auction off a rather unexpected part of his past: his collection of adult magazines, which he amassed during his time in prison.
According to TMZ, Simpson’s longtime attorney and executor of his estate, Malcolm LaVergne, has confirmed that the explicit materials, including a stash of prison pornography, are being considered for sale to help pay off Simpson’s significant debts.
The details surrounding how Simpson acquired the collection during his 2008 prison sentence in Nevada remain unclear.
However, it’s been reported that Simpson and other inmates were permitted to read explicit magazines while incarcerated.
After his release in 2017, Simpson reportedly kept the collection, which he had access to alongside other media, including online adult content via his phone.

The planned auction is expected to take place in early 2025, although the specifics are still being finalized. This move comes as part of ongoing efforts to settle Simpson’s financial obligations.
LaVergne has also attempted to raise funds by selling one of Simpson’s properties, but this has only made a small dent in the massive $33.5 million judgement Simpson owes from a 1997 wrongful death lawsuit. With interest, the debt has reportedly ballooned to around $100 million.
Simpson, the former American football star who gained notoriety for his involvement in a high-profile criminal trial, passed away in April 2024 after battling cancer.
The auction of his belongings is just one attempt to address the long-standing financial issues that have followed him for decades.
