Ghanaian talented singer, Gyakie has revealed in a recent interview that Nigerian singer, Omah Lay made her “Forever” song a complete one.
The Ghanaian Afropop singer featured fast-rising Nigerian singer Omah Lay on the remix version of her August 2020, released smash song “Forever”, the remix was released on March 19, 2021, and it is currently making the trends.
Speaking in a recent interview with Starr FM’s Foster Aggor on the Starr Drive show, the songstress stated that the original version of the song which she released back in 2020, even though it blew up and garnered a lot of streams worldwide, she felt it was not a complete song.
Why is the song not a complete song?
According to her, the reason for saying the song was not a complete one was due to the fact that she wrote the love song based on a woman’s point of view as to what love is. and to make it a complete one she needed a male point of view as well.
She added that Nigerian singer Omah Lay’s name came to mind the very first time she thought about the remix of the hit song because of the nature of his voice, and for that, his voice was very needful.
Forever by Jackie was taken off her 2020 released 5-track extended “Seed” EP which has garnered over 11 million combined streams since its release.
Birthed into a family of musicians, the Ghanaian singer Gyakie is the daughter of 80’s highlife music legend Ernest ‘Owoahene’ Nana Acheampong and she is really doing well in continuing a legacy of boldly African musicianship.
