OpenAI CEO and co-founder Sam Altman has strongly denied serious allegations made by his sister, Ann Altman, in a lawsuit filed earlier this week.
The lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in Missouri, claims that Sam sexually abused his sister over a span of nearly a decade, beginning in 1997 when Ann was just three years old.
Ann’s lawsuit details a range of disturbing accusations, including claims of sexual assault and molestation, allegedly starting when Sam was 12 years old.
The suit goes on to state that the abuse continued until Ann was a teenager and Sam was an adult. Ann also claims that these traumatic experiences have left her with PTSD, depression, and other emotional scars.

In a joint statement with his family, Sam Altman denied the allegations, calling them “completely false.”
The statement, shared on social media, further explained that Ann has struggled with mental health issues over the years and has refused conventional treatment.
“Our family loves Annie and is very concerned about her well-being,” the Altman family wrote. They also noted that despite their financial support, Ann continued to ask for more money.
Ann’s lawyer, Ryan Mahoney, responded to the family’s statement, defending his client’s credibility.
He pointed out that family members often deny such allegations, but emphasized that Ann’s claims were serious and not connected to her mental health.
Ann, who is now 30, is seeking at least $75,000 in damages for the emotional distress and medical bills she claims were caused by the abuse.
Her lawsuit is allowed under Missouri’s statute of limitations, which permits victims of child sexual abuse to file lawsuits until they turn 31. Ann’s birthday passed two days after filing the suit.
