An Oregon veterinarian has been convicted of second-degree murder, stalking, and violating a protective order in the 2023 death of Kenneth Fandrich.
On January 22, Steven N. Milner, 58, was found guilty of killing Fandrich, 57, in a chilling case of obsession and revenge after an affair with Fandrich’s wife.
Milner, a licensed veterinarian in Oregon City, had an affair with his employee, Fandrich’s wife, which led to the affair’s discovery by Fandrich.
When the woman cut ties with Milner, he became fixated on both her and her husband. Prosecutors say Milner began stalking the couple, installing GPS trackers on their cars and even sneaking onto their property.
Despite being served with a stalking protective order in March 2022, Milner continued his behavior, following Fandrich to his home and workplace more than a dozen times.

Milner went to extreme lengths, including buying cars under false identities to surveil Fandrich.
The situation culminated on January 27, 2023, when Milner, disguised and after tampering with security cameras, ambushed Fandrich outside his workplace, choking him to death.
Milner staged the scene to make the death appear natural, but an autopsy revealed injuries that confirmed foul play.
Milner testified that he acted in self-defense, claiming Fandrich attacked him, but the jury convicted him on multiple charges. Milner is scheduled for sentencing on February 18.
