Jake E. Lee, former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, was shot multiple times in Las Vegas early Tuesday morning (October 15).
The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. in a neighborhood roughly 10 miles south of the Strip. Lee, 67, was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he is expected to fully recover from the injuries. Las Vegas police said in an emailed statement.
The authorities are currently investigating the attack, and no arrests have been made. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, but it reportedly took place as Lee was out walking his dog.
A statement from Lee’s representative, Amanda Cagan, confirmed the incident but requested privacy for the guitarist and his family. “As the incident is under police investigation, no further comments will be forthcoming,” the statement read.
Tim Heyne, the manager for Red Dragon Cartel, Lee’s current band, expressed relief over Lee’s prognosis. “By the grace of God, no major organs were hit. He’s fully responsive and expected to make a full recovery,” Heyne told The Associated Press.

Lee’s fans have expressed concern, but the news of his recovery has provided some reassurance. With decades of contributions to rock and metal music, Lee remains a beloved figure in the industry.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in San Diego, Jake E. Lee became a prominent guitarist during the glam metal era of the 1980s. He gained recognition in the Los Angeles music scene, playing in various bands, including an early version of the rock group Ratt.
In 1982, Lee joined Ozzy Osbourne’s band, replacing guitarist Randy Rhoads after his tragic death. Lee’s time with Osbourne was marked by iconic albums, including 1983’s Bark at the Moon, which solidified his reputation as a top-tier guitarist.
After leaving Osbourne’s band in 1987, Lee formed the metal band Badlands and later embarked on a solo career. He has released two solo albums and most recently leads the band Red Dragon Cartel, continuing to make his mark in the rock music scene.
