Grammy-Nominated DJ Paul Oakenfold Sued For Sexual Harassment By Ex-Personal Assistant

The New York Post has reported that Paul Oakenfold, the Grammy-nominated DJ and composer of the Swordfish soundtrack, is facing accusations of $exual harassment and workplace violations.

The allegations were brought forward by a former personal assistant named Jane Roe, a 24-year-old woman, who filed a lawsuit in LA Superior Court on Friday.

According to the lawsuit obtained by Deadline, Roe claims that Oakenfold exposed and touc-hed himself in front of her on four separate occasions while she worked as his personal assistant in his home. These incidents allegedly took place on different dates when Roe was 23 years old.

Roe further alleges that two management companies associated with Oakenfold, as well as his manager Paul Stepanek and other unnamed individuals, violated her employment rights. She is seeking damages for five claims that exceed $25,000.

The lawsuit states that Roe was hired by New Frequency in October 2022 and was assigned to work as Oakenfold’s personal assistant for a rate of $20 per hour. On her first day, Oakenfold allegedly cornered her and purposefully mastur-bated in her presence when they were alone in his home.

On another date in November 2022, he repeated this behavior four times within a single day. According to the filing, he also performed the act in her vehicle and “spread his legs wide, and proceeded to mastur-bate with plaintiff only inches away.”

After Roe reported the incident to management on November 29, 2022, she was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement two days later. Allegedly, when she refused to sign the agreement, she was prevented from returning to work and faced threats of termination.

Under what she claims was duress, Roe eventually signed the NDA. However, she was no longer assigned to work with Oakenfold and her hours were significantly reduced, despite still being allowed to work. In March 2023, she was eventually laid off due to what court papers describe as “a lack of work.”

The lawsuit argues that Roe’s termination was a retaliatory action by the defendants in response to her complaints about the $exual harassment she experienced, which is in violation of the law.

It is worth noting that Paul Oakenfold is a well-known DJ who has worked with notable artists such as Britney Spears, U2, and the Rolling Stones.
