After months of anticipation, Paul Pogba’s long-awaited return to football has hit a major setback.
The French midfielder, who has been banned for doping since the beginning of the 2023-24 season, was scheduled to play in an exhibition match at the King’s Cup in Dubai.
However, organizers announced the event’s cancellation just days before it was set to take place, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”
Pogba, 31, had previously faced a four-year suspension after testing positive for elevated testosterone levels following Juventus’ opening match of the season.
He successfully appealed the decision, and the ban was reduced to 18 months, with permission to return to the field in March 2025.
The King’s Cup, an exhibition match that brings together football legends, was to mark Pogba’s first game since his suspension.
Players such as John Terry and Paul Scholes were also set to participate, adding to the event’s star-studded appeal.
However, fans will now have to wait as the organizers announced the event will be rescheduled to February 2025.

Please visit the Platinum List website for refund details. We will announce specific dates soon. Thank you for your understanding.”
While the reasons behind the cancellation remain unclear, Pogba’s fans are left with mixed feelings, hoping that the rescheduled event will allow them to finally see the World Cup winner back on the pitch.
As for Pogba, his journey back to football continues to be delayed, but fans are eager for his return next year.
