The footage, which quickly went viral, shows the 53-year-old manager visibly enraged after the fan shouted at him, “F***ing hell mate, just because you lost.”

Guardiola, who was dressed in a dark grey suit and black tie, was walking through Manchester’s city center, accompanied by his son Marius and another man, when the confrontation occurred.

The fan’s comment seemed to push Guardiola to his breaking point, prompting him to turn around and attempt to engage with the cameraman.

Security quickly intervened, restraining Guardiola as he tried to make another beeline for the fan, saying, “Do you know what is lost?” and asking, “Do you want I sign? I’m gonna sign it?”

The situation escalated briefly, but the manager was eventually calmed down and walked away from the scene, his frustration still visible.

The footage, believed to have been filmed in Salford’s Chapel Street, has sparked speculation among fans that the incident may have taken place in the aftermath of Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the 2024 FA Cup final.

The loss added to the mounting pressure on Guardiola, whose team had also suffered a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool, leaving City 11 points behind the Premier League leaders.

However, City has denied that the altercation occurred after the Liverpool loss, and the club recently ended a seven-match winless streak with a crucial 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Guardiola seemed relieved by the victory, acknowledging that the team “needed it” but emphasizing that they must continue to improve ahead of their upcoming match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
