Police murdered four alleged armed robbers and apprehended one.

On Saturday, January 22, four people suspected of being armed robbers were shot and killed in an intelligence-led operation by a combined team of the Ghana Police Service’s Anti-Robbery Section and Intelligence and Surveillance unit.

The four were accused of being part of a robbery network that seized a Toyota Rav 4 vehicle from a victim under the guise of selling it the same day in Accra, according to a police statement.

The police squad tracked the suspects to a thicket near Afienya in Tema, where they were apprehended and the stolen vehicle recovered.

The four shooting suspects were brought to the Police Hospital, but they died while receiving treatment, according to reports.

These remains have since been placed in the mortuary at the hospital for preservation.

Meanwhile, the person apprehended is being held in custody and is supporting the investigation, while the one on the run is being pursued by the Tema Regional Police Command.

“The Police will keep fighting crime in order to keep the country secure and peaceful,” said the law enforcement body.
