Police to reduce robbery response time to 10 minutes nationwide – Dampare

Police to reduce robbery response time: Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police, has informed Ghanaians that the Police Service is working on innovative methods to improve the effectiveness of police in the nation as part of its duty to safeguard lives and property there.

Speaking at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in a public lecture on Policing, Dampare disclosed that Ghana Police Service is working very hard to reduce the robbery response time across the country to 10 minutes.

He asserts that he believes it will be doable and that it will undoubtedly be accomplished. Adding that there will be deployments of 2,000 motorbikes and officers patrolling all highways in the country.

“We want to reduce robbery and crime response time to 10 minutes across the country. We believe this is possible, and it will be done. When was the last time you heard of robberies on the major highways in the country? The police have men patrolling all those places.”

“We are going to deploy about 2,000 motorbikes and officers to be patrolling all highways in the country,” he said.

Dampare emphasized once again that all policemen now have their names permanently sewn into their uniforms for the public’s convenience and to maintain service discipline.

“We have our intelligence officers all over the place, in the Ubers, shops and all over the communities. It’s very expensive, but we need to get the job done”. – He continued.
