Qatar To Host Its First Formula One & Motor GP Race In November 2021.

The sport and local organizers confirmed on Thursday that Formula One will race in Qatar for the first time in November, with a 10-year deal starting in 2023 after the country hosts the 2022 soccer World Cup.

The race, which will take place on November 21 at the floodlit Losail International Circuit outside of Doha, will be part of an unprecedented Middle Eastern quartet of grand prix on the 22-race calendar in 2021.

The season began in March in Bahrain, with the first race set for December 5 in Saudi Arabia and the season ending on December 12 in Abu Dhabi.

After the abandonment of the Japanese round at Suzuka, one of several races rescheduled, the Nov. 21 slot was left open on a rejigged calendar.

The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation and Authorities have been fantastic, moving at breakneck pace to ensure the event can take place at the Losail Circuit this season,” stated Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali.

Thanks to everyone’s hard work, including F1 and the FIA, we were able to deliver a 22-race schedule, which is really impressive in such a trying year and something we can all be boost of!

The Formula One race will be floodlit and begin at 1800 local time.

Due to the World Cup, which will be contested in November and December due to the weather, there will be no event in 2022, and the venue to be used after that has yet to be determined, though it may shift to a different track unless alterations are made to Losail.

“Discussions on the location for the Grand Prix from 2023 will continue as part of the longer-term agreement, with further details to be given at a later date,” Formula One stated.

The agreement means Qatar will host Formula One and MotoGP for the next decade, according to Abdulrahman Al-Mannai, president of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation.
