On September 19, a state funeral is likely to be held in Westminster Abbey, with large crowds expected to assemble in central London.

As part of the Operation London Bridge plan, the Queen’s coffin is scheduled to be transported to the abbey on a gun carriage which will be pulled by sailors rather than horses.

Members of the Royal Family are anticipated to follow behind the coffin as it is transported to the abbey on a gun carriage, with the military lining the streets and also taking part in the procession.

The event will be televised, and a nationwide two-minute silence is planned.

The Queen’s final resting place will be the King George VI memorial chapel, an annex to the main chapel at Windsor Castle, where her mother and father were buried, along with the ashes of her sister, Princess Margaret.
