Boris Johnson, who happens to be the former Prime Minister of the UK, has revealed that Queen Elizabeth II was diagnosed with bone cancer in the final years of her life, a previously undisclosed detail.
This particular shocking revelation comes from Johnson’s upcoming memoir, which is set to be published very soon.
Initially, the official cause of Queen Elizabeth II’s death on September 8, 2022, was attributed to old age, which is a natural decline in bodily functions.
However, Johnson’s memoir claims that the late monarch was battling bone cancer during her penultimate years. He also shared intimate details about their final meeting at Balmoral Castle, just days before her passing.
According to excerpts published by the Daily Mail, Johnson had been aware for over a year that Queen Elizabeth II’s health was severely declining due to bone cancer.
He received updates from the Queen’s private secretary, Edward Young, who warned him of her fragile condition before their last meeting.
Shockingly enough, this is not the first mention of the Queen’s possible cancer diagnosis.
Royal author Gyles Brandreth had previously written in his December 2022 book Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait about rumors that the Queen had myeloma, a rare form of bone marrow cancer.
To this, Brandreth noted that her symptoms, including fatigue, weight loss, and mobility issues, aligned with this diagnosis.
Despite these claims, Buckingham Palace has never released detailed medical records, and the official statement lists old age as the cause of death.
Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, her son, King Charles III, ascended to the throne. King Charles is reportedly undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer.
