Violence broke out in a restaurant in Accra when some male employees of the well-known loan company Quick Credit Ghana stormed the premises, started fighting with the staff, and then forcibly locked everything up.

Since neither Quick Credit Ghana nor the restaurant in question have commented on the incident, it is unclear exactly what set off the development.

Online comments to the development have been mixed. Many Ghanaians have called for the relevant authorities to summon the loan company, describing the invasion and violence as lawless.

However, others contend that some debtors are just intransigent and that creditors are forced to use force in order to get their money back from them.

Here are some responses to the video:

“Lack of order! Hmm. It’s crucial for authorities to address these brutal actions by Quick Credit’s loan agents sooner, before it escalates into a violent response from certain loan clients,” commented @Hitwaddle on X.

“Did they attack workers? Were the workers the ones who took the loan? This behavior needs to be halted,” remarked another user, @fawogyimiiko.

“Picture if the business owner had been armed, serious consequences! It might reach that point eventually, and we’re just observing,” cautioned @iamphaya.

“This is our behavior. When the restaurant was taking the loan and committing to repay, there was no issue. Now that it’s time to pay, you place your workers in the forefront to hinder the creditors and portray them negatively,” pointed out @komla_komla.
