The lawsuit, lodged on November 27, 2024, claims that MTN failed to provide roaming services during Mubarak’s international business trip in September 2024.

Despite prior arrangements, Mubarak was unable to access mobile services while traveling to the UAE, Bahrain, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.

He claims this disruption caused significant financial loss, reputational damage, and hardship for both his personal and business affairs.

In the court filing, Mubarak explains that the service failure left him unable to receive calls, SMS, or internet data, and he struggled to manage financial transactions and family obligations due to the lack of access to one-time passwords (OTPs).

MTN Ghana issued an apology on October 17, 2024, but Mubarak dismissed the response, criticizing it as inadequate and trivializing his experience.

After multiple failed attempts to resolve the issue amicably, he decided to pursue legal action, hoping to hold the telecommunications giant accountable.

In a Facebook statement, Mubarak expressed frustration with MTN’s response, asserting that such behavior should not be tolerated from large corporations.

He emphasized the importance of holding businesses accountable for the service they provide to customers.
