Rashford Slams Outrageous Salary Rumors: “I Never Asked for £500k A Week!

By Riddy10 3 Min Read

Manchester United’s star forward Marcus Rashford has dismissed reports that he is holding out for a whopping £500,000-a-week contract to remain at Old Trafford.

The speculation, reported by the Daily Star, was said to be linked to the ongoing sale of the club, with Rashford allegedly making significant wage demands.

However, the 25-year-old has taken to social media to set the record straight and categorically denied the claims.

In a tweet posted on Wednesday, Rashford branded the story as “complete nonsense” and assured fans that he and the club have been respectful to one another.

He also reiterated his commitment to helping United finish as high as possible in the league and compete for trophies.

The England international then followed up with an Instagram post, dismissing the rumors once again as a “non-story.”

Rashford’s impressive form this season, which has seen him score 27 goals in 44 games, has led to speculation about his future at United, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.

However, the club’s manager, Erik ten Hag, confirmed last month that Rashford’s new deal is a priority for the team and that negotiations are ongoing.

Rashford has been with United for eight seasons and has established himself as one of their key players. He made his debut as an 18-year-old in 2016, scoring two goals against Midtjylland, and has since become a fan favorite.

His current form has put him in the spotlight as one of the best young players in Europe, with only Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland scoring more goals than him in the top five European leagues this season.

Rashford missed England’s recent Euro 2024 qualifiers due to injury, but he is expected to be fit for United’s upcoming match against Newcastle United.

As the season draws to a close, all eyes will be on Rashford and United to see if they can finish strongly and secure a top-four spot in the Premier League.

With Rashford’s future at the club no longer in doubt, fans will be hoping that he can continue to deliver his best performances on the pitch.
