Bringing you updates on CoronaVirus, Why Kasoa in the central region (Awutu Senya East) joined the list of areas hit by the partial lockdown protocol imposed.
The Municipal Chief Executive (M.C.E) of the Awutu Senya East Municipality Assembly, Michael Essuman Mensah has explained to residents as to why Kasoa and the ASEM were part of the areas affected with the lockdown.
Michael Essuman, on Saturday, March 28th, 2020, was granted interview on Pink 96.9 FM where he to address the issue.
Prior to the interview on that same day the MCE, met up with the thirteen Assemblymen within the Municipality which held at the premises of the Kasoa Divisional Police Command to brief them ahead.
According to the MCE during the interview, disclosed that Awutu Senya East Municipality was named among the lockdown areas because 12 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Kasoa and one of the victim is currently in critical condition.

He added that the confirmed persons were part of the contact tracing thus classified as community transmission.
In addition to the figures given by the MCE. My interaction with a nurse at who works at the Kasoa hospital On Monday morning, March 30th, told me cases confirmed regarding the contact tracing shoots up to over 18 persons now identified.
The president flagged Kasoa as one of the hotspots which is very on point, and the cases could climb up very fast into something else if care is not taking due to the countryfied way of living here in the municipality.
