Real Madrid have won the second Clasico of the 2020/21 LaLiga Santander season, defeating Barcelona 2-1 at home at the Estadio Di Stefano.
This win means they have moved on to 66 points, the same as Atletico Madrid have. Barcelona, meanwhile, have 65. It couldn’t be tighter at the top, as can be seen in the LaLiga standings here.

The left-back tries to get his head on it, but can’t react in time and it glances off his forehead and in. he gave Vinicius credit for this as he was the one who won the freekick with his latest dribble forward. Oh, and the Brazilian provoked a Ronald Araujo yellow card too.
Barca hit back on the hour mark through Oscar Mingueza and the defender almost found the equaliser later on.
Barcelona had a penalty appeal turned down when Martin Braithwaite went to ground under Ferland Mendy’s challenge, before a late tackle on Mingueza earned Casemiro a second yellow card.
The visitors almost snatched a draw in second-half stoppage time when Moriba thumped a loose ball against Courtois’ crossbar, but Real held on to record three consecutive El Clasico wins for the first time since 1978.
Real midfielder Casemiro was sent off in stoppage time for picking up two yellow cards in the space of a minute while Barca substitute Ilaix Moriba hit the crossbar in the fourth minute of added time.

Zinedine Zidane’s side joined Atletico Madrid on 66 points and moved top of the table, although Atletico can reclaim first place when they visit Real Betis on Sunday. Barca dropped to third on 65.
Now just a one separates the top three, with Madrid on top with 66 points, Atleti the same but with a game in hand. Barcelona on 65 points.
