Rema's 'Calm Down' secures platinum plaque in the UK

Ever since its release, Rema’s track ‘Calm Down’ has experienced a remarkable surge in popularity worldwide, solidifying its position as the leading Afrobeats export on the global stage.

Following its impressive achievement of reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, ‘Calm Down’ by Rema has further extended its incredible momentum by becoming the most frequently played song on US radio.

This sensational hit has conquered the top spot on the Billboard Radio Chart, accumulating a staggering 97.68 million impressions within the United States. As a result, it managed to surpass Miley Cyrus’s chart-topping hit ‘Flowers’ to claim the coveted position.

Rema’s collaboration with Selena Gomez on ‘Calm Down’ also made history by becoming the first African song to ascend to the summit of the US Pop radio charts.

Moreover, this accomplishment marks the highest-ranking Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100, trailing only South Africa’s Hugh Masekala’s 1968 record ‘Grazing In The Grass,’ which reached No. 1 on the chart.

With its unprecedented ascent showing no signs of slowing down, ‘Calm Down’ by Rema is projected to contend for the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the upcoming week.
