Manchester United Announces Richard Arnold As New Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

It has been confirmed that England-based professional football club, Manchester United has announced Richard Arnold as the club’s new chief executive officer (CEO).

Richard Arnold is a British accountant and a director of Manchester United F.C. Arnold used to be the former Group Managing Director of the football club and Company Director of Manchester United PLC.

Well, According to a post published on the official website of the Club, Richard Arnold, the former Group Managing Director, will become Chief Executive Officer of the Club, effective from 1st February 2022.

Richard Arnold will be taking over from Ed Woodward who will step down from his role as Executive Vice-Chairman, also effective from 1st February 2022.

According to Richard upon finding out he is the new CEO for United has this to say;

Richard Arnold said: “I am honoured to have the chance to serve this great club and its fans. I am determined to return that honour in any way I can.”

The Executive Co-Chairman, Joel Glazer, extended his gratitude to Ed for his tireless work on behalf on Manchester United during the nine years Executive Vice-Chairman and 16 years with the club.

“We are now looking forward to Richard and his leadership team opening a new phase in the club’s evolution, with ambitious plans for investment in Old Trafford, the strengthening of our engagement with fans, and continued drive towards our most important objective – winning on the pitch.” he added.

In another sports-related news on Townflex.com, Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has extended this contract with Chelsea footfall club for another one year which will expire until the end of 2022/23 season.

The 37-year-old Brazilian professional footballer, Thiago Emiliano da Silva first joined Chelsea in the summer of 2020 under former manager, Frank Lampard on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, and he and his family have become fans’ favourite at Stamford Bridge.

He has made 22 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season, scoring two goals and assisting two more. But in total, he has made a total of 56 appearances for the club since he joined.

It was confirmed on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, that Thiago has extended his stay at the club for another year following an official post published by the club’s official website.

Thiago Silva’s new deal will run until the conclusion of the 2022/23 season, midway through which he will also be hoping to represent Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar having remained a regular for the Selecao in qualifying. Click Here To Read Full Story.
