Damon Dash, the 52-year-old American entrepreneur and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, is currently seeking a reduction in the amount of child support awarded to his ex-wife, Rachel Roy, for the care of their youngest daughter.
This move comes as Dash claims to have earned less than $6,000 in 2022, leading him to request a significant decrease in his monthly payments.
Dash and Roy, the 49-year-old fashion designer, were married from 2005 to 2009 and share two daughters, Ava Dash, 24, and Tallulah Dash, 15.

Additionally, Dash has children from previous relationships: a son, Dame ‘Boogie’ Dash, 32, with ex Linda Williams; a son, Lucky, 19, with ex Cindy Morales; and a three-year-old son, Dusko, with fiancée Raquel Horn.
Currently paying around $3,000 monthly in child support for Tallulah, Dash expressed in court documents that the maximum amount he can afford to pay is $428.
He attributes his financial difficulties to ongoing struggles in his business ventures, which have been adversely affected since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic nearly four years ago.
In response to Dash’s claims, Roy argued that he failed to fully disclose his earnings, alleging that he continues to profit from his significant share in Roc-A-Fella Records and other lucrative business endeavors not included in his court accounting.
A judge is set to rule on the case, and this is not the first time Dash has faced legal issues regarding child support. In November 2019, he was arrested in New York City for unpaid child support totaling $404,000 to Roy and Morales.

Dash insisted on Good Day New York that his arrest was a result of a set-up orchestrated by lawyers, emphasizing the impact on his life.
According to Dash, Roy had control over child support disbursements at that time, accusing her of neglecting payments and stepping down as manager without correcting the situation.
He stated, “It’s all about business. It’s about these lawyers, they try to manipulate things and they don’t care if they ruin your life.”
As the legal proceedings unfold, Damon Dash finds himself entangled in a complex web of financial disputes, shedding light on the challenges many individuals face when navigating child support obligations amid changing circumstances.
