Tragic news has struck the American film industry with reports confirming the passing of esteemed actor, Ron Cephas Jones.
Ron Cephas Jones Dead: The actor, who had won two Emmy Awards, passed away at the age of 66. The news of his death was officially confirmed to People on Saturday, August 19, by his representative.
In the provided statement, Jones’ spokesperson acknowledged the impact he had on those who knew him, both personally and professionally, highlighting his qualities of ‘warmth,’ ‘beauty,’ ‘generosity,’ ‘kindness,’ and ‘heart.’

“Beloved and award-winning actor Ron Cephas Jones has passed away at the age of 66 due to a long-standing pulmonary issue.” The statement said.
“Throughout the course of his career, his warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness and heart were felt by anyone who had the good fortune of knowing him.
“He began his career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and his love for the stage was present throughout his entire career, including his recent Tony nominated and Drama Desk Award winning performance for his role in Clyde’s on Broadway.”
“Ron’s inner-beauty and soul was evident to the huge audience from his multi-Emmy award winning performance on This is Us. He is survived by his daughter Jasmine Cephas Jones,” the statement concluded.

This loss is deeply felt. Ron was most renowned for his portrayal of William Hill in the drama series ‘This Is Us,’ a role that earned him four consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards nominations. He secured victory twice, winning the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series award in 2018 and 2020.”
In addition to his role on This Is Us, Ron also appeared played Romero on Mr. Robot, Bobby Fish on the show Luke Cage and in recent years, starred on the Apple TV+ crime drama Truth Be Told as Shreve, father of Octavia Spencer’s main character.
Cause of his death: According to reports, Ron, known for his role in ‘This Is Us,’ succumbed to a “long-standing pulmonary issue.”
