Rosie O’Donnell is addressing her daughter Chelsea Belle O’Donnell’s recent legal issues, following her arrest on charges of child neglect and drug possession.
Chelsea, 27, was taken into custody twice in Wisconsin within a month, facing serious charges that include possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rosie shared a photo of Chelsea from a happier time and wrote about the family’s struggles with Chelsea’s decade-long battle with drug addiction.
“Sadly, this is not new for our family,” she stated. “We are all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease.”
Authorities discovered alarming conditions at Chelsea’s home, including a meth pipe within reach of a small child, used hygiene products, and a generally filthy environment.

The disturbing findings led to charges that not only involved drugs but also indicated child neglect, as police noted the hazardous living conditions for Chelsea’s children, including her 11-month-old son Atlas.
The legal troubles began when police were called to Chelsea’s residence after a reported argument. Upon arrival, they found her in an impaired state, and evidence of drug use was prevalent.
In a subsequent search of her home, officers reported finding drugs, used needles, and other paraphernalia scattered throughout the living space, including in the child’s bedroom.
Chelsea was released on bond after her initial arrest but was apprehended again shortly after for further drug-related offenses.
She is set to appear in court next month.
