Comedian and former TV host Rosie O’Donnell has voiced serious concerns about U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk. She believes both men should be investigated following Trump’s re-election, citing their close ties and influence.
Speaking on The Late Late Show, Rosie, 63, shared her decision to relocate to Ireland with her 12-year-old child, Clay. She said Trump’s victory and his ongoing feud with her played a major role in her move. She also criticized the individuals within Trump’s circle, including Musk and MMA fighter Conor McGregor.
Rosie raised suspicions about the election results, questioning why Trump won every swing state while maintaining a strong alliance with Musk, a major donor and tech mogul. She pointed out Musk’s control over significant online platforms and stated, “I would hope that that would be investigated.”
She also expressed disappointment over McGregor’s association with Trump. The Irish MMA fighter was recently found civilly liable in a sexual assault case. Rosie found it troubling that Trump welcomed him to the White House on St. Patrick’s Day. “It seems very strange to me that the President has so many friends who are sexual abusers,” she remarked.

Rosie left the U.S. with Clay in January, fearing that government budget cuts would affect her autistic child’s access to vital services. “It’s going to be disastrous for children on the spectrum. That was terrifying,” she said.
Since relocating, she noted that Clay is thriving. “I’m so, so proud and impressed with their resilience,” she shared. Despite the difficulties of moving to another country, she believes it was the best decision.
Rosie also reacted to Trump discussing her during a meeting with Irish leader Micheál Martin in the Oval Office. Calling the moment “surreal,” she said, “He’s been doing it for two decades, and I’m still not used to it.”
She felt that the Taoiseach was put in an uncomfortable position and later emailed his office to apologize. “I just wanted him to know the history and what happened,” she explained.
Rosie did not hold back in her criticism of Trump’s leadership. She described his second term as “overwhelmingly depressing, unconstitutional, illegal, criminal, and so, so very sad.”
While she acknowledges the challenges of relocating, she remains confident in her decision. “It was the safest and best thing for us to do,” she said. Rosie continues to speak out about issues she believes in, standing firm in her views.
