Sarkodie states Kendrick and Cole are his only competition

Rapper Sarkodie, real name Michael Owusu Addo, hails from Ghana. His most recent song, “Brag,” features him boldly declaring his dominance over other African rappers and musicians. 

He emphasises how long he has been in the music business, going back before Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Black Sherif, and Asake became well-known. 

Sarkodie claims that Kendrick Lamar and J Cole are his only rivals. The song explores Sarkodie’s journey, touching on parts of Wizkid’s and Davido’s ascension during his pre-eminence.

He affirms his continued relevance and inventiveness by mentioning up-and-coming artists like Odugwo, Black Sherif, and Asake. 

He says, “I gotta brag, I am too quiet,” indicating that he is prepared to go over his extensive resume of accomplishments in the music industry. “I was doing it already when Wizkid arrived. 

When Davido began, I was already making improvements. Then Odugwo, Black Sherif, Asake, and I’m still going came through. Did you think I was going crazy? In the song, he raps, “Kendrick and Cole are my biggest rivals. 

Sarkodie muses over obstacles and letdowns from people he looked to for assistance. He also gave a sneak peek at his next project, “The Championship,” which should be out by May 24 at the latest. 

Being his first significant music release since his eighth studio album, “Jamz,” in 2022, this release is eagerly awaited. Hip-hop fans can’t wait to watch how Sarkodie’s new song affects the genre.
