Veteran Nigerian actress, Patience Ozokwo has reacted to the rate at which scammers are using her name to defraud people out there and take their money.

The popular Nollywood star who isn’t happy with what is going on has taken to her official and verified Instagram page to clear the air on the matter and also caution people to be very vigilant.

Reacting to fake accounts created in her name and duping people off their hard-earned money, the actress said she was recently attacked by a group in France who claimed that she signed a contract to do business with them where she took a huge sum of money but did not hold to her promise.

According to Patience Ozokwo, she had not intentions of duping people and that she was not the one, she stated that there are fake accounts that are being created in her name with bad motives just to soil her name and that she is and still trying her best to report all such fake accounts.

She then advised the general public to be vigilant and also investigate to get the real account before doing business with them.

“I have tried to close so many fake accounts – still trying. Please note that anything that sounds too good to be true is probably not true. Investigate before you invest. Check for real accounts and contacts.” she wrote.

The actress however apologized to all who were duped in her name and said for business purposes her Instagram bio can be checked as she has links pointing to all her official (real) social media accounts.

She wrote;

“Why do people always try to discredit genuine businesses by creating fake accounts and duping people of their hard earned money?

“I cannot count how many messages I have received about giveaways I’m doing on Facebook or other social media platforms.

“A while ago I was vehemently attacked by a group in France who swore I signed a contract and took a huge deposit to do business with them – it certainly wasn’t me.

“To be honest it is quite disheartening.

“Any brand I support is genuine 💯
“If they stop being genuine, I leave sharp sharp.

“My apologies to all those who have been duped in my name. I have tried to close so many fake accounts – still trying. Please note that anything that sounds too good to be true is probably not true. Investigate before you invest. Check for real accounts and contacts.
