Pep Guardiola all but confirmed the switch on the final day of the Premier League season when he told reporters that Agüero would be “joining the club of my heart.”
The Argentina international scored 186 top-flight goals for City but could not complete his fairytale ending over the weekend, having lost the Champions League final to Chelsea.
Agüero will now return to LaLiga for the first time since leaving Atlético Madrid in 2011.
