Sergio Romero has signed a season-long contract with Venezia in Italy.

He is currently a free agent, and last played for Premier League,since leaving Manchester United in the summer and has held negotiations with a number of clubs in England and Europe, but has chosen to join Venezia, who are currently 17th in Serie A, barely above the relegation zone.

Over the last year, Romero has seen two deals to Everton fall through, and he has conducted negotiations with La Liga clubs Valencia and Granada, as well as Roma and Spezia, but financial constraints have forced those clubs to search for players elsewhere.
The Argentine’s international had performed admirably as David de Gea’s backup at United, but he had grown disgruntled with his lack of first-team appearances, which he blamed on the development of Dean Henderson.
