Colombian Megastar, Shakira was forced to cancel her Sunday, February 16th concert in Lima, the capital city of Peru after being hospitalized.
The Waka Waka singer shared with the world the update on her current health condition via her official Instagram account on Sunday.
According to Shakira, she was told by medical practitioners that with her condition which is due to Abdominal issues, she was in no fit condition to carry on with her musical performance. “The doctors who are taking care of me have informed me I’m not in condition to perform a concert tonight,” she began her statement.
The singer who wasn’t happy with how things went down and also thinking about her Peruvian fans who have traveled long distances to come witness her perform assured them that she will surely make it up to them very soon.
“I’m very sad to not be able to get onstage today,” she continued. “I’ve been full of excitement and anticipation to see my beloved Peruvian fans again. I hope to be better tomorrow and to be discharged as soon as possible to be able to give you the show I’ve prepared for all of you.”
“Our plan is to do this show as soon as possible,” Shakira assured fans who already have tickets. My team and the promoter are working on a new date to provide you. Thank you for understanding. I love you very much.”

Shakira was hospitalization comes just days after launching her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, which began on February 11 in Rio de Janeiro. She performed a second show on February 13 in São Paulo, with Lima set to be her next stop.

As of now, she is still scheduled to perform in her home country of Colombia on February 21, but it remains unclear whether she will recover in time to take the stage.
