Shatta Wale has taken his time to explain the main reason why he failed to show up to entertain the fans in UK (London).
According to the Dancehall recording artiste who spoke during a phone-in session during Hitz FM’s daybreak show hosted by Andy Dosty on Tuesday morning, things did not go true as planned because the agreement he had with the organizers of the concert was not fulfilled.
Wale disclosed that he had wanted to perform for free at the show which is his first time to be performing on the platform, he demanded only two things from the organizers but they failed to grant him his requests.
He said he discussed with the CEO of Akwaaba UK, Dennis Tawiah that he wanted the event be treated as a collaboration between themselves and Shatta Movement added that they agreed to promote the upcoming GoG Album and create a ‘GoG experience’ for fans in the UK but at the end, he saw a different flyer making rounds.
He also added that he requested Visas for at least four of his team/crew so they can be able to fly with him for the event since he cannot go and perform without his team after making it clear he will not be taking money for performance.
After several attempts made by him, he only got a visa for himself even after the organizers agreed to provide at least four visas for his crew to travel with him.
“We had a plan that he should do a GoG flyer in conjunction with Akwaaba UK. So, the title was expected to be Akwaaba UK in conjunction with Shatta Movement for GoG experience. What I told him was that it’s time we Ghanaian artistes start supporting the gatekeepers,”
“This is a show that I will want to come and perform for free, I won’t charge him any money. I wanted him to take all the money they’ll make but they should just make sure he gets these two things done (visa/flyer) right for me,” according to Shatta Wale.
