St. Louis Police Under Fire After Officers Leave Man to Die for Shift’s End

In a shocking turn of events, two St. Louis police officers were captured on bodycam footage walking away from a man who was still alive but suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, with one officer stating that his shift was about to end.

The officers, Ty Warren and Austin Fraser, have since been dismissed from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department following an internal investigation.

The incident took place on September 10, 2023, when the officers responded to a call about a man who had threatened suicide in Forest Park, St. Louis.

According to the complaint filed by the St. Louis Department of Safety, the bodycam footage reveals an alarming exchange between the officers.

“We ain’t taking this sh—,” Officer Fraser is heard saying in the footage, according to the complaint. “Let’s cruise around and come back.” He further stated, “I get off in 30 minutes.”

The two officers left the scene, despite finding the man, later identified as 31-year-old Urayoan Rodriguez-Rivera, still breathing, before “cruising around” and returning to the area.

When another officer arrived, they discovered Rodriguez-Rivera’s condition and immediately reported it. The officers, Warren and Fraser, did not inform the third officer that they had already been at the scene and had seen the man alive.

In a statement, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that both officers had been terminated for their actions, with the department expressing that they hold their officers to the highest standards and will take appropriate disciplinary action when policies are violated.
